Though there are many flavors, there are too many to count. When trying to choose a flavor to smoke you should go with something you like. For instance if you like bananas you should find a banana blend or something close to banana. If you cannot find a flavor at your local hookah bar that you think you will like simply ask the clerk what the most popular flavor is and if you can smell the flavors they have to offer. Almost every flavor tastes like it smells. Sometimes you will get flavors that smell milder than they taste while smoking. Also here is a cheat/trick, dip one of your fingers into the molases and taste it, try not to get tobacco on your finger when you do this. The flavor you get from the molases will be close to the flavor of the smoke you will get out of the tobacco. Many flavors will relate to candy or fruit you may find familiar. Al Fakher’s watermelon is one of my favorite flavors and I believe it tastes just like a watermelon Jolly Rancher candy. How do you take your hookah? One hose or two? Maybe even three or four? Today you can find many different styles of hookahs on the market. With hookah bars popping up all over the U.S. and Europe now, hookah is becoming a more common social past-time. While I enjoy smoking alone, I would rather share the experience with friends. The more people you have in your smoking party the bigger hookah and more hoses you need. So to determine how big your hookah needs to be think about how much smoke you want to create. Also how much space you have to work with your hookah. How many hoses do you need and how many people are you expecting to smoke with you. Also ask yourself how often these social sessions will occur. There is no right or wrong way to go about hookah if you keep simple hookah ediquatte in mind. With the many styles today you can match your hookah with your personality or give it it’s own. You can personalize it from the ground up making it as unique as you want. By todays standard eveyone knows what a cigarette is but most do not know what hookah is. The most frequent question I get is “Isn’t that illegal?”. When I am asked this most people have never heard of a hookah nor do they know what one is used for. Most relate it to illegal drug paraphanalia. Hookah has been around for centuries and is just now becoming a trend for todays society in parts of Europe and the United States. When researched hookah has many names, most common are hookah, shisha-pipe, hubba bubbly, and the water pipe. The second question I get most often is “What do you smoke out of it?” and “What is the tobacco you smoke through it?” The tobacco you smoke through a hookah is called Shisha.

 Shisha is referred to as a tobacco that has been marinated in a flavored molases. On the open market today you can find an array of flavors, too many to name but most are a fruit or a fruit blended flavor. Other questions that come up are “what does it do to you?” “do you get high off of it?” The answer that I give most often is that if you have ever smoked a cigarette it gives you what is referred to as a “nicotine buzz”. Depending on how often you pull from the hookah depends on its effects. If you draw from a hookah often you can feel the effects of your body tingling, due to the nicotine, to a melowing buzz. For those whom smoke often and regularly these effects deminish over time due to your body becoming adjusted to smoking. There are also alternatives to the tobacco such as herbal shishas and a new product that is becoming a craze called steam stones. Both of these products do not carry nicotine like its tobacco counterparts. If you remember, not many years ago, the word “Hookah” or “Narguile” was very unusual; but during the years this invention has been very well know all around the world for people that like to share with their pals a cool moment.

Young people around the world use hookahs as tag for social events and also as a hobbies. Blogs (like this one), web stores, videos,  give us the latest news about this phenomenon that every days get more and more fans.

Smoking a hookah is seen as sign of sophistication and even to many looks very sexy. In Europe and the USA there are many high profile hookah lounges where you can enjoy a very nice experience

Most of the people associate hookah origins to the middle east, but it’s not that precise; there are also some versions that they could come from India and China. What we do know is that every thing started with a coconut, and then they modified them for a better quality material like Cristal, silver, and even gold.

There’s the believe that Arabs invented the Shisha and spread it to the whole world, but it was the British colonization to India that brought this invention to the western culture.

During the Turkish occupation during the XVI century in the kingdom of Hungary, it was very used by the nobles that had very tight relation with Muslims politicians through the Transylvania’s Kingdom. Once in 1699 the Turkish were expelled from the  Hungarian territories, it was prohibited to smoke all kind hookahs and any element associated to the Muslims with the idea to keep the christian culture over the kingdom

Nowadays, we can tell the hookah culture is very strong all around the world and it’s not strange to find hookah pubs in Europe and USA.
